I’m in Love
A new song for your summer playlist 2017! The “Love Will Heal” series is finished with two new songs, “I’m in Love” and “Deserted Eyes”.
The first. “I’m in Love” goes on pre-order today and will be released on July 28, 2017!
Introspective violins introduce the sonic landscape of Oh.’s beautiful new Indie Pop single, I’m in Love” while a minimal hand crafted beat sets the stage for pondering sultry vocals as a playful piano leads on to an ecstatic chorus. The song explores how “being in love” amplifies our vulnerabilities and exposes the gestures and stances we make in order to conceal and hide our inhibitions.
Honestly…this was not an easy song to complete.
Right before mixing and mastering, I pressed pause and moved on to the Prog Metal EP, “Metallia”, coming out this Fall.
Obviously, from the title, you might assume, I was in love when I wrote it, and it is true, I was engaged – if you can believe that! And yes, I pressed pause on the mixing when that engagement ended. You know how it is when you are in the studio and you’ve listened to the song a hundred times and you need to go out and take a walk to reset your hearing, I guess the same goes for one’s heart.
You will hear moments of joy and sadness, a mix of rhythmic piano and introspective violins. I’m sure you know how love makes everything more amplified. The light and the dark within us. It also has an uncanny ability to reveal our vulnerable spots and blatantly shows us how we keep ourselves away from beauty and Love itself (not just the love of another person) through our static beliefs and insecurities.
The song has a beating heart. There are handmade percussions made on a cardboard box, glass bottles and my hands. We gesture and create stances to conceal and hide our inhibitions in order to stay safely in our “box” of knowledge. Rather than becoming a better person through the relationship; we also forget it’s not only that you are going through a process but the other person is as well! I’m sure you know what I mean.
An animated music video accompanies the release which has some very cool special effects!
I also know that some of you who support my work may want to hear the song right away so you can go and pre-order the single by pressing the buttons below. Otherwise, you can wait and stream it on Spotify when it is released
